Turbo-charged speed dog obedience training sounds like a good idea to me. I used to train my german shepherd twice a day, every day, every year for dog obedience competitions. It was expected that a dog could get the coveted Companion Dog award a few years before it died. That sort of commitment seemed reasonable to me at the time.

However there is a faster way. Have you watched TV serials of super dogs? My favourite is Inspector Rex. Have you ever wondered how many years it took to train these dogs? Ten years? One year? A month?

I suppose if a dog could be taught a trick each week then that would be fine for a weekly serial episode - except that the whole program has the dog carefully choreographed to be in exactly the right place at each moment of the show. One trick a week wouldn’t even scratch the surface of what was needed.

When the director wants a trick he wants it now! Does that mean that people who train dogs for TV must know special techniques for speed training? Of course! One of the trainers is called Dove. She has made it possible for you to learn her expert methods.

Dog books don’t work. I remember studying books on preparing my Alsatian for competition heel work. It said that my dog should keep perfectly level with my thigh. But my thigh kept moving back and forwards as I walked. And should it be the nose of the dog or the chest that aligned with my thigh. I could imagine a wolfhound happily keeping its nose level with my waist, but if a Chihuahua kept looking up at my waist it would probably get under my feet.

And I was supposed to praise my dog ecstatically, and the tone of voice was vitally important. How could I learn all that from a book? That is why I usually advise people to go to dog training classes.

However Dove has modernised the whole thing. You can see and hear exactly how she positions herself and uses her voice. You can even view it again and again on your computer. It won’t wear out as soon as a book would.

If you are as impatient as I am, you’ll be delighted with Dove’s dog obedience training package. With speed training you’ll soon trick your friends into believing that your dog is more clever than you are … just like Inspector Rex.
